Be sure that you avoid punishing them harshly; this will only scare the puppy and they will begin going in places that you will never find. Of course you want to let them know that they did something that you do not approve of; however only if you witnessed the accident.

Your new pup will leave his mark everywhere; heck who knows maybe you will even step on something that you may not want to.

1. Start Early: It is important that the minute you bring your pup home; you begin immediately potty training your puppy. 3. Feeding Schedule: While you are potty training your puppy; make sure that you feed him/her at the same time each and everyday. This will keep their bowel movements at the same time each and everyday. It will also ensure that you are less likely to have accidents in your home.

4. Consistency: Make sure that you take the puppy outside every morning; this should be the first thing that you do. You will also want to take them outside at least 10 to 20 minutes right after they finish eating and drinking and right before you go to sleep at night.
