Everyone wants to know the secrets to being able to potty train puppies quickly. Puppies are cute and adorable; but no one ever wants to deal with their bodily functions. Well if you don’t want to spend a lot of time cleaning up accidents from your puppy; then you are going to have to learn how to potty train a puppy and how you can do it fast.

The most important thing that you should know about your puppy is that they want to please you; therefore as long as you are willing to stick with these tips you should be able to learn how to potty train a puppy fast.

Imagine playing with your new puppy when you bring him/her home; you are both having a great time. All of a sudden the phone rings and you leave the room for a quick second; upon return you notice it on your brand new carpet puppy poo! Yes it can happen that quick and most of the time you will never even notice it until it is too late; this is the reason that every new pet owner should be concerned with learning how to potty train a puppy. Here are some tips that I believe will help speed up the process for you.

1. Poop Words: These are command words that will help your puppy become familiar with doing their business outside. You can use words such as “go potty” and eventually after constant repetition of the words; they will be able to understand what you want them to do.

2. Accidents: Regardless of how good you learn about potty training puppies; accidents are bound to happen. Be sure that you avoid punishing them harshly; this will only scare the puppy and they will begin going in places that you will never find. Of course you want to let them know that they did something that you do not approve of; however only if you witnessed the accident.

Otherwise the only thing that you can do is clean up the mess. Make sure that you clean up the mess completely without leaving any type of trace or smell behind. If your puppy can smell their poop or urine; you can be sure that they will visit that spot again.

2. Praise: Give praise when it is due and make sure that you make a big deal about it. This will show the puppy that you approve of the behavior they are doing. Your new puppy is a creature of habit and wants to please you. If they see you acting all happy when they do their business; they will want to make you happy again.

Don’t make a small deal out of them using the potty; don’t worry if you look like a fool. Your puppy will know that you are happy for the behavior they just did and that is all that matters.
