3) Avoid letting them drink any water or eat any food before they go to sleep. This will help eliminate those unexpected messes that you may experience if you let your pup eat late at night.

4) Be patient and loving; this is the only way that your puppy will learn exactly what you want them to do. Remember house training a puppy takes time; however once they learn how to do what you want you will realize that the bond before you and your canine friend will never be broken.

When someone announces they are getting a new puppy; you can see every one’s face light up. However what most people don’t realize is that they are not ready to begin housebreaking a puppy. In fact you want to begin potty training puppies as soon as they get home.

While potty training puppies may not be the easiest thing that you do; the truth is that it is extremely important; especially if you do not want to clean up any messes! One important thing to remember whenever you are training a puppy; is that accidents will happen.

You never want to punish your puppy for an accident; we all know that toddlers have accidents and so will your new puppy. You will want to calmly let them know that they did something that you did not approve of; however you only want to acknowledge the accident if you happened to witness them doing it. Never try to discipline them for something that happened and you did not see them do it.

Your new puppy will never understand what they are being punished for. In fact they may even become frightened of you because they think that they are going to be punished for no reason at all. Remember even though you consider your new furry friend a member of the family; he does not understand you like the human members of the family.

Not only is potty training puppies important in a new pups life; but you also want to begin with puppy obedience. Your new best friend is only going to be a youngster for a while; eventually he will be a dog.
