pug puppyUnfortunately the truth is that accidents are bound to happen while potty training puppies. I know this is not what you wanted to hear; but you have to remember that you puppy is learning new behavior. So the only thing that you can do when an accident happens is clean it up.

However the good news is that you can begin taking some necessary steps to prevent accidents from happening often. You want to begin potty training puppies and get through the process as quickly as possible so that your home will be free of messes.

Here are some tips that you can use to help you speed up the puppy potty training process and make learning how to potty train your puppy easier:

1. Cleaning Supplies: I already mentioned that accidents are bound to happen and sometimes there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. However you want to ensure that you have plenty of paper towels and an enzymatic cleaner that will take away the urine and poop smell. A puppy’s nose is extremely sensitive and if they smell anything; then you can be sure they will go in same spot again.

2. Schedule: Having a set schedule that your puppy follows on a regular basis will ensure that you have less accidents. If you and your family set a routine for him/her to go outside and take care of business; then you are less likely to have accidents in the house.

3. Praise: Be sure and give your puppy plenty of praise whenever they do their business outside. This will encourage them more; you will be surprised that all they want to do is please you. Eventually before you know it they will be letting you know that they have to go outside instead of squatting in the home.

4. Commands: Begin teaching them what it means by using the word “potty” or something. Remember that when you say “potty” you want to take them outside so that they can begin comprehending what that word means.

As long as you are willing to continue sticking with your potty training schedule; you will notice less and less accidents in the house. If you want to learn more about properly potty training puppies Click Here.
